Connectivity - Kerala

Kerala, being an important destination for travel and tourism is well connected by air, rail and road. One can have also the mere experience of voyaging from Kochi/Cochin to Lakshadweep Islands. The internal water navigation system in Kerala is also very popular and exciting.

By Air: Kerala has three airports – Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode. Thiruvananthapuram is the international airport providing flight services to major destinations in the country and abroad. The karipur airport at Kozhikode provides both domestic and international flight services. Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery is linked by regular flights to important destinations in India and also to golf countries.

By Rail: Kerala has an extensive network of rails extended to more than 200 stations within the state. Long-distance express and super-fast trains connect important destinations within the state and to places outside Kerala like Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kolkata. By Road: A well maintained network of metalled roads connects almost all parts of the state. National highways 47, 17, and 49 pass through the state and help the transportation facility to great extent. State owned buses as well as private buses ply regularly within the state and also to neighboring states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
